Welcome to Robb Vaughn Car Rentals (“Robb Vaughn”, “Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By reserving, renting, or operating any vehicle provided by Robb Vaughn Car Rentals, the renter (“Customer”, “Renter”, or “Driver”) agrees to the following Terms & Conditions.

These Terms & Conditions are designed to ensure the safety, protection, and satisfaction of all customers while maintaining the quality and reliability of our rental fleet throughout Jamaica.

1. Company Overview

Robb Vaughn Car Rentals is a Jamaica-based vehicle rental company offering affordable and reliable transportation services for both locals and international visitors.

Our fleet includes:

  • Compact Cars

  • Deluxe Sedans

  • Mini Vans

Vehicles are available for short-term and extended rental periods subject to availability and approval.

2. Eligibility Requirements

To rent or operate a Robb Vaughn vehicle, the Customer must:

  1. Be at least 21 years of age.

  2. Possess a valid driver’s license.

  3. Have held a valid driver’s license for a minimum of two (2) years.

  4. Present a valid government-issued identification document or passport.

  5. Provide any additional documentation requested by the Company for verification purposes.

International renters must provide:

  • A valid passport

  • A valid driver’s license from their country of residence

  • Any permit required under Jamaican law

The Company reserves the right to deny service to any individual who does not satisfy these requirements.

3. Reservation & Booking Policy

3.1 Minimum Rental Period

All vehicle rentals are subject to a minimum booking period of three (3) consecutive days.

3.2 Reservation Confirmation

Reservations are considered confirmed only after:

  • Required customer information is submitted;

  • Payment or deposit requirements are satisfied; and

  • Confirmation is issued by Robb Vaughn Car Rentals.

3.3 Availability

Vehicle availability is not guaranteed until confirmation has been issued. In circumstances beyond our control, the Company reserves the right to substitute a comparable vehicle class.

4. Payments, Deposits & Charges

4.1 Rental Charges

Rental charges are based on:

  • Vehicle category;

  • Rental duration;

  • Seasonal rates;

  • Insurance selections; and

  • Additional requested services.

All prices are quoted in the applicable currency unless otherwise stated.

4.2 Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit may be required before vehicle release. The amount may vary depending on the vehicle category and rental duration.

The deposit may be used to cover:

  • Vehicle damage;

  • Excessive cleaning fees;

  • Smoking violations;

  • Missing accessories;

  • Fuel discrepancies;

  • Traffic fines or penalties; and

  • Other breaches of this agreement.

4.3 Additional Charges

The Renter agrees to pay all additional charges incurred during the rental period, including but not limited to:

  • Late return fees;

  • Parking tickets;

  • Traffic violations;

  • Toll charges;

  • Towing fees;

  • Refueling fees;

  • Smoking fees;

  • Car wash and detailing fees;

  • Damage repair costs; and

  • Administrative processing fees.

5. Vehicle Use Restrictions

The rented vehicle may only be operated:

  • By the approved renter and any approved additional drivers;

  • Within Jamaica unless otherwise approved in writing;

  • In accordance with all Jamaican traffic laws and regulations.

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Reckless or dangerous driving;

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs;

  • Illegal activities;

  • Racing or speed testing;

  • Off-road driving unless expressly authorized;

  • Transporting illegal substances or contraband;

  • Subletting or re-renting the vehicle;

  • Carrying passengers for hire without authorization.

Violation of these restrictions may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement without refund.

6. Tracking & Vehicle Monitoring

For safety, theft prevention, fleet management, and insurance compliance purposes, all vehicles may be equipped with GPS tracking and monitoring technology.

By renting a vehicle from Robb Vaughn Car Rentals, the Customer acknowledges and consents to:

  • Vehicle location tracking;

  • Mileage monitoring;

  • Speed monitoring where applicable;

  • Retrieval assistance in emergencies or theft-related situations.

The Company will make reasonable efforts to protect customer privacy and use collected data solely for legitimate operational, legal, and safety purposes.

7. Vehicle Condition & Maintenance

7.1 Vehicle Inspection

The Customer is responsible for inspecting the vehicle upon pickup and reporting any visible damage before leaving the rental location.

Failure to report existing damage may result in the Renter being held responsible for such damage.

7.2 Return Condition

Vehicles must be returned:

  • In substantially the same condition as received;

  • With all supplied accessories and documents;

  • Reasonably clean and free from excessive dirt, stains, sand, odors, or debris.

Additional cleaning or detailing charges may apply if the vehicle requires excessive cleaning.

7.3 Mechanical Issues

Customers must immediately report any mechanical issue, warning light, accident, or operational concern.

Unauthorized repairs are prohibited unless prior approval is obtained from the Company.

8. Smoking & Cleanliness Policy

Robb Vaughn Car Rentals maintains a strict non-smoking policy for all vehicles.

Smoking, vaping, or the use of any tobacco or cannabis-related products inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited.

8.1 Smoking Fees

If evidence of smoking is detected, the Customer agrees to pay applicable smoking and odor-removal fees.

Such evidence may include:

  • Smoke odor;

  • Ash residue;

  • Burns or stains;

  • Cigarette or cigar remains.

8.2 Car Wash & Cleaning Fees

Vehicles returned excessively dirty may incur car wash, sanitizing, shampooing, or detailing charges.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Excessive mud or sand;

  • Food spills;

  • Pet hair;

  • Stains;

  • Strong odors;

  • Trash or debris.

9. Fuel Policy

The Customer is responsible for returning the vehicle with the agreed fuel level.

If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than provided at pickup, refueling charges and service fees may apply.

10. Accidents, Damage & Liability

10.1 Accident Reporting

In the event of an accident, theft, or damage, the Customer must:

  1. Contact local authorities where required;

  2. Notify Robb Vaughn Car Rentals immediately;

  3. Provide all requested information and documentation;

  4. Cooperate fully with insurance investigations.

Failure to report incidents promptly may result in additional liability.

10.2 Responsibility for Damage

The Renter is financially responsible for damage caused during the rental period where:

  • The Renter is at fault;

  • The terms of this agreement are violated;

  • Negligence or reckless conduct occurs.

Where the Renter is determined to be at fault in an accident, the Renter may be responsible for the full cost of repairs, replacement, loss of use, towing, storage, administrative fees, and related damages not covered by applicable insurance.

10.3 Insurance Limitations

Insurance coverage may become void if:

  • Unauthorized drivers operate the vehicle;

  • The driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs;

  • Traffic laws are violated;

  • False information is provided;

  • The vehicle is used negligently or unlawfully.

11. Theft & Loss

The Customer is responsible for safeguarding the vehicle, keys, and accessories during the rental period.

Charges may apply for:

  • Lost keys;

  • Damaged keys;

  • Lost documents;

  • Missing accessories;

  • Theft resulting from negligence.

The Company reserves the right to report stolen or unlawfully retained vehicles to law enforcement authorities.

12. Late Returns & Extensions

Vehicles must be returned at the agreed date and time.

Late returns without prior approval may result in:

  • Additional daily rental charges;

  • Late fees;

  • Recovery costs;

  • Reservation disruptions for future customers.

Requests for rental extensions are subject to availability and approval.

13. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellation terms may vary depending on the booking type, season, and promotional rate.

Refunds, if approved, may be subject to administrative or processing fees.

No-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in forfeiture of deposits or prepaid rental amounts.

14. Roadside Assistance

Roadside assistance may be available for covered mechanical breakdowns.

However, charges may apply for assistance resulting from:

  • Driver negligence;

  • Flat tires caused by misuse;

  • Lost keys;

  • Empty fuel tanks;

  • Unauthorized use.

15. Indemnification

The Customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Robb Vaughn Car Rentals, its owners, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • The Customer’s use of the vehicle;

  • Violations of these Terms & Conditions;

  • Traffic violations or illegal conduct;

  • Injury or property damage caused during the rental period.

16. Privacy Policy

Customer information collected during the rental process may include:

  • Name;

  • Contact information;

  • Driver’s license details;

  • Payment information;

  • Travel details.

This information is collected for legitimate business, security, legal, and operational purposes.

Robb Vaughn Car Rentals will take reasonable measures to protect customer information and will not knowingly sell personal data to unauthorized third parties.

17. Force Majeure

Robb Vaughn Car Rentals shall not be held liable for delays, cancellations, or service interruptions caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters;

  • Hurricanes;

  • Government restrictions;

  • Civil unrest;

  • Mechanical failures;

  • Supply shortages;

  • Emergencies.

18. Right to Refuse Service

The Company reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate rental services at its sole discretion where:

  • Fraud is suspected;

  • Safety concerns arise;

  • False information is provided;

  • The Customer violates these Terms & Conditions.

19. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Jamaica.

Any disputes arising from the rental agreement shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Jamaica.

20. Acceptance of Terms

By reserving, signing for, paying for, or operating a vehicle from Robb Vaughn Car Rentals, the Customer confirms that they:

  • Have read and understood these Terms & Conditions;

  • Agree to comply with all policies stated herein;

  • Accept financial responsibility for applicable charges and damages.
